Mushroom Hunt & Lunch with mycologist Bill O’Dea

Bill O'Dea  PR picWe are delighted to host our first Mushroom Hunt with Ireland’s premier mycologist, Bill O’Dea of mushroomstuff.com. (Read more about Bill below)  This promises to be a fun and informative day! Tea and coffee with a treat will welcome you on arrival. Bill will then give a talk on how to look for & identify edible mushrooms.Information sheets will be provided. Everybody will then head out to woodland nearby to find mushrooms so bring wellies and a raincoat! Back to the cookery school afterwards to identify mushrooms and cook them up for a delicious lunch with wine. Book soon as places are limited! 10am-4pm, €60 per person

Bill O’Dea is a passionate Irish mycophagist who has been running mushroom hunts in Ireland and abroad since 1996. He also speaks internationally at Mushroom festivals in Spain, France and Turkey. His hunts in Ireland have been covered and recommended by RTE TV(Corrigan knows food, Nationwide, Living the Wildlife), TV3, TG4, Irish Times, Irish Independent, Examiner, Sunday Independent, RTE 1 Radio(Morning Ireland, Mooney goes wild, ), Sunday Business Post(Ross Golden Bannon top ten events of the year), Food and Wine magazine, and others. As well as his love of gathering and eating wild mushrooms, Bill enjoys sharing his knowledge on the fascinating, amusing and sometimes horrific aspects of fungi and their relationship to the planet and the other natural kingdoms.
